        Finishing works       (Panting/Varnishing)

        

Surface finishing

Surface finishing is the process of improving the apperence. Chemical residtance and physical resistance. It include plastering, paniting, putting, primaring, and varnishing.

Purpose of surface finishing

1.To protect the surface
2.To provide smoothness and durable surface.
3.To improve apperence of the surface.
4.To fill-up the void of masonry works.
5.To provide physical and chemical resistance.

Sanding of working parts

Sanding is done to treat n even and smooth surface. Sanding is the action of removing small amount of unwanted materials for the surface of working parts.

Cleaning of working parts

Cleaning is the process done after sanding to clean-up all the mass that come with sanding. Generally cloth is used to clean-up timber and water jis used for masonry structure's surface.

Putting

When paste of lime and water having similar function are used to fill-up racks or holes in the surface of buildinng is called putting. It is applied before painting.

Primering

A primer or undercoat is a first coating on the materials before painting. It ensure better adhesion of paint to the materials surface for better apperence and durability.

Varnishing

Varnishing is a clear transparent hard protective finished of film. It is used for wood finishing application where natural tones and grains n the wood are intended to be visible. The viscous film is called varnish.

Polishing

Powder of color are generally used to polish a timber structure by making its paste it's main purpose is to give shining to the timber structure.

Thinner

Thinner is a volatile solvent used to make paint or other viscous solution less viscous. It is added to paint or varnish to make proper consistency. Eg sprit, turpentine oil resistance
