Application Software
Word processing software is an application that allows a user to store, type, edit and save text. Word Processing is the technique of creating, formatng, editing and manupuliating documents reports etc. Some of the widely used word processing software are MS-Word, Word prefect, Word star, Word pad etc.
Microsoft word
MS-word is widely used commercial word processer design by microsoft. MS-word offers several features like :-
1.WYSIWYG
(What you see is waht you get) It ensure that everything displayed on screen appers the same way whwn they are printed or moved.
2.Spell Check :
Builting dictionary helps for spelling checking.
3.Text features
Such as bold, italic, underline are available.
Word processer interface
1.Title bar
It is located at the top of screen which displays the name of current document.
2.Menu bar
Each word on the manu bar represent different meanus.
3.Stander menu
It displays some of the most common word processing task like opening, copying and formating.

Horizontal rular can be used to set tab stops and adjust the width of paper. It can be also used to change the margin of page.
Spreadsheet software
Spreadsheet software is a application software capable of organizating, storing, and analizating data in tabular form. The application can provide digital simulation of paper accounting worksheet. They can also have multiple intracting sheets with data represented in text, numeric value and graphical form. Because of these capabilities, spreadsheet has replace many paper based system.
Uses of spreadsheet
It provide valuable tools for collecting and calculating data of all types beyond arthrmatic, they can be formated to create and calculate.

You can create lists from shopping list to contact list on spreadsheet.
Accounting
Spreadsheet is a calculator, by entering the apporipirate mathmatical function into cells you can turn simple spreadsheet to accounting page.
